Crouch End Festival Chorus will be running a Symphonic Choral Conducting Workshop led by our Music Director, David Temple MBE.
We invite applications from talented young musicians, of any level of experience, who have an interest in conducting symphonic choral music.
There are five places on offer for this free workshop event. Applicants should be aged between 18 and 35 years.
This workshop is a stand-alone event, but may be of interest to those thinking of applying for the next Young Conductors Mentoring Scheme (2025-2026)
Workshop details
Saturday 15th February 2025
2:00 to 4:30pm (Registration 1:30pm)
Union Church, Weston Park Road, Crouch End, London N8 9PX
Nearest train stations are Crouch Hill (Overground line) or Finsbury Park
(Victoria line and Thameslink).
Participants will be mentored and coached by David Temple to conduct an SATB choir of 35, singing extracts of Bach Mass in B minor.
The choir will be made up of experienced singers from Crouch End Festival Chorus, and accompanied by a professional pianist.
Attendees must bring their own score of Bach Mass in B minor (Novello Edition) - (hard copy, not electronic, to ensure compatibility with the singers’ scores)
