Our new recording celebrates Decca's 90th birthday
British composer Debbie Wiseman’s new work Decca 90, which the chorus recorded for the 90th birthday of the record company in September 2019 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, is now available to download via our Music Shop.
Wiseman, who recently became a patron of Crouch End Festival Chorus, conducted the premiere of her work at the Classic FM Live concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 8 October 2019.
The theme of the work is built on the notes D, E, C, C, A and features a Latin text inspired by the pioneering qualities of the label: History, Discovery, Partnership, Innovation, Power, Daring.
The choir recorded the work at a session at St Jude-on-the-Hill church in north London with Wiseman conducting.
