Classic performance with Sir Karl Jenkins

23 Apr 2019

Sir Karl Jenkins conducts Crouch End Festival Chorus and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) in his own works Adiemus and the Benedictus from The Armed Man at a Classic FM Live concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday 23 April 2019.

The choir also sings Handel’s Zadok the Priest, the first ever music played on Classic FM at its launch in 1992, and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture in the concert which will be broadcast on Classic FM on Wednesday 24 April from 2000 UK time.

Sir Karl, who celebrated his 75th birthday earlier this year, conducted the choir at Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall in 2012. The Chorus is also celebrating his birthday with a special open workshop on The Armed Man on Saturday 8 June 2019 with music director David Temple.

The rest of the concert, which also includes Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No.2 and Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, will be conducted by the CBSO’s Michael Seal. Superstar guitarist Miloš will also perform music by Piazzolla and The Beatles.
