The Mendelssohn siblings
Crouch End Festival Chorus produced what one critic called “one of their best ever performances” and “an astonishing choral display” in their January 2022 concert featuring works by siblings Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn.

The concert at Alexandra Palace in north London on Sunday 23 January 2022 also featured the London Mozart Players and soloists soprano Julia Doyle, mezzo soprano Rebecca Afonwy-Jones, tenor Ronald Samm, and baritone Ashley Riches.
Whilst the works by Felix Mendelssohn have long been a part of the choral repertoire (Vom Himmel hoch, Psalm 42 and Die erste Walpurgisnacht), the music by Fanny Mendelssohn Henschel (Lockung and Hiob cantata) was new to many in the packed auditorium.
The choir will return to Alexandra Palace on Sunday 8 May 2022 for Vaughan Williams A Sea Symphony.
