Ennio Morricone conducting CEFC

CEFC sings with Morricone at the O2

Crouch End Festival Chorus was thrilled to be asked to accompany Maestro Morricone for his 'farewell' concert at the O2 in November 2018. Aged 90 Morricone is retiring from live performance but showed no signs of slowing down.

Whilst not managing 90 years CEFC fielded a choir made up of singers from our launch in 1984 right up to the most recent recruits in 2018. Our own Rosemary Zolynski was asked to do a couple of nerve-wracking solos for the Maestro which she handled with her usual calm.

Morricone is well know for his soundtracks for over 500 films, working with great directors from Leone and Bertolucci to Almodóvar and Tarantino. We sang The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, and excerpts from The Mission amongst other well-known Morricone favourites.

The 60 Years of Music tour was accompanied by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and took place at London's O2, which dwarfed the tiny figure of Morricone but which was filled to the rafters.

Crouch End Festival Chorus is delighted to have been Morricone's choir of choice for his UK gigs during his amazing career.
